My thoughts…
★★★★★
Lady of Darkness hooked me from the very first chapters. It has all the elements I love in a fantasy series: compelling characters, intriguing mysteries, magic, tension, and just enough twists to keep me constantly wanting to read one more chapter.
What really stood out to me, though, were the characters. I loved them both individually and in their relationships with each other. The banter, friendships, and dynamics felt natural and engaging, and I quickly became invested in their journeys.
I’m kind of wondering why more people aren’t talking about this series. It seems to have so many of the things fantasy readers usually love, yet I rarely see it mentioned. I’ve only read the first book so far (and I’m almost finished with book two), but it has already earned a place surprisingly close to Throne of Glass in my mind, and that’s not a comparison I make lightly!
