★★★☆☆
This is book 4 in the Dragonian series, and while I’m still invested in the overall story, I felt like parts of this one moved a little too slowly.
A major focus of the book is the miscommunication trope, which is one of my least favorite tropes. It always frustrates me when so many problems could be solved if the characters just sat down and talked to each other! I also felt like the same conflict was repeated for longer than necessary..
That said, the story itself and the worldbuilding were strong enough to keep me engaged despite those frustrations. I’ll probably take a break before picking up book 5, but I’m definitely curious to see where the series goes next.
